Street Radio Mag: What inspired you to write the song “I Got You”?

MC Imprint: So the song “I Got You,” was inspired by my trip to the ATL. Some opportunities arose and there was a chance that it would further my music career in music so I dropped everything and ventured to Atlanta! I used the situation with my mother because she has always stuck by my side through thick and thin! My mother has done so much for me, being that she raised my older brother and I by herself since we were the age of 4 and 5! Going to Atlanta meant leaving her back in Cali by herself until I made something happen. I wanted to let her know that I was doing this for us, because WHEN I make it, life will be better for her! I don’t want my mother to have to work anymore because she’s worked so hard her whole life, with no breaks! She did everything she could to try and make a better life for my brother and I, now I want to give her a better life!

@Kingtut_915 One of El Paso’s Most Diverse Artist – Kingtut “What It Is” [VIDEO]

Kingtut has always been about music. He first started his music career in high-school as a lead guitarist in a death-metal band called “Feedhimflesh”.  While in this band, he was learning software such as, Fruity Loops, Reason and Mixcraft, where he found a hidden talent for music production. Like all bands do, F.H.F went their separate ways, and that was the time Kingtut decided no one was going to come between him and his career.  So he picked up a microphone, an M-Box, Pro-Tools and started writing to his own beats. He began networking with people he knew in the “El Paso Hip-Hop scene”… The numbers were small in a city where rock is the mainstream and Hip-hop artists had to go to other cities to pursue their dreams. He was ready, ready to show everyone from everywhere that El Paso has talent, and lots of it! His journey sets him to prove it’s possible for his city to grow.

Kingtut have worked with HTown Gotty, Dakid Track, Mike Corleone, Lil Awree, DOE, Sweep, Verseatylle, Plays, JT, Madd Dogg, Eddie Boi’, Ashe J, Simmions, Miller, Midas, Propa-G, Coast2Coast, Paradox Records, Chop Shop Records.
