Q: What challenges do your face as an indie artist?

A: One challenge I face as an indie artist, is funding. Everything in the music business has associated costs behind it. Weather that means traveling cost, recoding time, or manufacturing and distributing my self titled, debut album (which is set for release on March 13, 2012).

Q: What is the inspiration behind your most recent album?

A: The inspiration behind my album, is fun. I’m a blessed lil dude, so I’d like to promote that positive vibe, to help uplift those who may be going through tough times. And to give those kids in college, like me, some music to party to.

Q: How did you come up with the performance name?

A: My name came natural I guess, since my dad and I share a name. I’ve always been Lil Moe. (laughs)

Q: If you had to choose to work with anyone in the music industry, who may that be?

A: I’d like to work with 50 Cent. He’s a great song writer as well as an extraordinary and brilliant business man.

Performance Review – Florida’s Indie Hip Hop Artist, Uzi Performs at the Jazid [VIDEO] @uzi311 @jazidnet

November 1, 2011 By Leave a Comment

Last Wednesday night, Street Radio Mag hosted their first “Indie Artist Appearance” at the Jazid on South Beach. Performer and Hip Hop Indie Artist, Uzi, definitely hyped the crowd on the dance floor, while others were dancing on the pool table. Time and time, we have seen indie artists who are inexperienced with the mic and loses a connection with the crowd. Either, the artist is shouting in the mic or the audience become extremely bored. On the other hand, Uzi, had set a fine example in getting the crowd involved by maintaining eye contact and gravitating a connection with his audience. Surely, a great stage presence!!!

@Kingtut_915 One of El Paso’s Most Diverse Artist – Kingtut “What It Is” [VIDEO]

October 11, 2011 By Leave a Comment

Kingtut has always been about music. He first started his music career in high-school as a lead guitarist in a death-metal band called “Feedhimflesh”.  While in this band, he was learning software such as, Fruity Loops, Reason and Mixcraft, where he found a hidden talent for music production. Like all bands do, F.H.F went their separate ways, and that was the time Kingtut decided no one was going to come between him and his career.  So he picked up a microphone, an M-Box, Pro-Tools and started writing to his own beats. He began networking with people he knew in the “El Paso Hip-Hop scene”… The numbers were small in a city where rock is the mainstream and Hip-hop artists had to go to other cities to pursue their dreams. He was ready, ready to show everyone from everywhere that El Paso has talent, and lots of it! His journey sets him to prove it’s possible for his city to grow.

Kingtut have worked with HTown Gotty, Dakid Track, Mike Corleone, Lil Awree, DOE, Sweep, Verseatylle, Plays, JT, Madd Dogg, Eddie Boi’, Ashe J, Simmions, Miller, Midas, Propa-G, Coast2Coast, Paradox Records, Chop Shop Records.

Ju Rock ft. Akon – Hope You Don’t Mind [VIDEO] @Jurock2011

October 5, 2011 By Leave a Comment

Who is Ju Rock? Ju Rock could be another T.I. or Lil. Wayne? Maybe some other hip hop stars that Ju Rock admires? Ju Rock’s style can be compared to many of the big names of today, but what makes this self proclaimed “underdog of the underground” different from the rest is his unique method of delivery. Unless you are of course one of the thousands that has been a witness to his impeccable flow, flawless delivery, and industry level hooks. Ju Rock is a visionary, his ear for music and his charismatic presence has made him the voice of a “New Generation”.

The internet phenomenon that is Ju Rock’s theme’s, all started amongst the streets where he plans to keep this theme as a reminder of how he beat his struggles and gained succession. One look at Ju Rock’s track record will convince even the toughest critic that the Indie bred artist is indeed the next to make a difference in hip hop. Although Ju Rock’s roots start out in Buffalo, NY, his name became known in the streets of Toledo, (also known as the “Glass City”).

“I believe in putting the real me out here and letting everybody feel me for me not for who they think I am”- Ju Rock

His current project “The Storm Mixatape” (hosted by: DJ Logikal and the Ohio street DJs) is generating a buzz that might very well be that buzz that puts Ju Rock in the spot he has been fighting for, for the last decade.

“The First Impression” @Mcimprint on iTunes [Video]

September 17, 2011 By 4 Comments

Brett Guidry, alias Imprint, understands strife. Raised in Seal Beach, California after his father passed away, he found solace on the streets and became hooked on drugs at a very early age. Progressing worse and worse, Imprint began chasing this illustrious lifestyle as a way to buffer his own problems and eventually ended up in custody fighting a six year bid in prison. Through these moments…, he realized a change needed to happen.

Always a fan of music, it was not until he started creating his own brand of West Coast swagger that he finally found a way to channel his aggressions into a more positive light. Honing his craft in a rehabilitation center, Imprint cemented his now lifelong goal. As a member of the Mash Down Babylon community, he quickly embraced this new lifestyle and attacked the microphone with a zeal and a style that would only force other acts into envy.

After the release of his first album in January of 2011, “The First Impression” which undoubtedly made it’s mark and set IMPRINT far apart from his contemporaries.

“Hustle Hard Flow” @Uzi311 – Uzi [Video]

September 14, 2011 By Leave a Comment

South Florida raised, Uzochi Onyejuruwa; better known as UZI, has a delivery that easily captures the ears of his peers and those who have never even heard of him due to his versatility and impeccable flow. It’s very refreshing to hear a young artist hit the scene with vivid story lines, hard hitting punch lines, and dope rhymes we can actually repeat and understand.

With turning a hobby into a talented craft, the past few years of practice and studying have turned UZI into an unprecedented artist. Heavy influences such as Z-Ro, Tech N9ne, K-Rino, Outkast, Cee-Lo, Field Mob, UGK, Twista, Chamillionaire, Jay-Z and many more have been the sources of style for UZI. UZI was built by taking pieces from each of these artists and molding them into one. With an amazing work ethic matched only by his talent, UZI has taken the necessary steps to get out and get connected. This is an up and coming artist to listen and look out for, UZI.
